The Integrity Commission has today published a report on its website detailing operational data from the first four months of this financial year.

Chief Executive Officer Michael Easton said this is the first in an ongoing series of triannual reports.

‘The introduction of these reports increases transparency by providing the community with insights into the current operations of the Commission,’ Mr Easton said.

‘Triannual reporting enables the public to view the number of complaints being received by the Commission, how often authorities are referenced in complaints, and what the outcomes are - following the triage process.’

Assessment, investigation, and project data from the Commission’s Operations Unit are also included.

The next triannual report will cover the period from November 2022 to February 2023 and will be expanded to include data from the Commission’s Education and Engagement Unit.

Chief Executive Officer Michael Easton said: ‘When assessing and investigating alleged public sector misconduct, it is often necessary to maintain confidentiality. This allows us to effectively undertake our investigations, protect complainants, and ensure we observe the rules of procedural fairness for all parties involved.’

‘We are balancing these inherent confidentiality requirements with an aim to be as open and transparent as possible. Triannual reporting is a new initiative that helps achieve this,’ he said.

Triannual Report No. 1 of 2022–23 (Jul–Oct) can be accessed on the Integrity Commission website.
