Underpinned by good practice research, Investigating Misconduct introduces you to the core concepts and skills in managing and investigating misconduct. The training is framed around the three stages of public sector misconduct management: allegation or suspicion, investigation, and outcomes. Delivered over two half days, these interactive sessions contain practical tips and tools targeted to the real needs and experiences of the Tasmanian public sector.

Please note that this training is an updated version of the Commission’s Managing and Investigating Workplace Misconduct workshop. If you have previously complete Managing and Investigating Workplace Misconduct, there is no need to register again for Investigating Misconduct.

Learning outcomes

Investigating Misconduct will teach you how to:

  • identify the core elements of a preliminary assessment
  • define factual and misconduct allegations
  • draft an investigation plan
  • plan for an interview, and
  • identify best practice in investigation report writing.

Who should attend?

This training is designed for public sector employees directly involved in managing and investigating misconduct, such as:

  • human resources, finance, legal, risk and governance personnel
  • internal auditors, and
  • managers and supervisors.
